Steve Vicario
Chief Technology Officer
Let’s go back in time. I was 12 years old in 5th my grade class at Gillette Road Middle School in Cicero, NY. My teacher, Mrs. Varney, tasked our class to fix the computer for that day’s lesson. She was unable to get her lesson plan loaded. We stood in line in alphabetical order, so naturally I was one of the last students to take on the task. After none of the other kids could fix the computer, I was up to bat. After saving the day, I knew from that moment on that I enjoyed technology.
Later on, in middle school I made my first website. A friend of mine and I taught ourselves basic HTML. I was fascinated by it and throughout my early years, I built several small websites that really had no purpose.
Let’s jump ahead to college. During my four-year term studying Business Marketing at the University at Buffalo, I decided to get back into website development. I hadn’t learned any new website techniques in many years, but I decided to revisit HTML. It was like riding a bike. The next task ahead was to figure out what CSS was all about.
After I grasped some of the new concepts, there was PHP. I did not understand it much at all, but luckily, I had a couple of friends that knew some basic PHP and gave me a boost so I could comprehend what its purpose was. That was in fact to query data and write web applications.
When I graduated from college, I started my first website development company. I gained a few clients and six months later purchased a website company from a mentor called WebPros. I worked with clients for eight years under that business and had great success. I did not focus on making money so much as I focused on reinvesting my earnings into more knowledge. I took on difficult job after difficult job and began to really understand all aspects of website development.
After my eight-year run with WebPros, Doug and I partnered up to open what is now Team V Technology. We started building apps and custom software alongside our website development branch. Now Team V Technology is in year #3 and I have over a decade of software experience that I can offer to our clients.
Thank you all for your continuing support throughout this grind and following my journey to help build better technology. I have built over 200 websites, several apps, a couple games for iOS, a dance competition program for a major dance company, and a highly sophisticated CRM aimed toward time efficiency and tracking. There is a lot more ahead and I cannot wait to update this website for those that enjoy seeing our work.
