You’ve probably seen this error from time to time when searching the internet. You type in a URL (website address) and you get a page that describes a “404” error.
A 404 error page is a URL or link on a website that is not part of the website’s site map. In other words, it’s a page that doesn’t exist. The 404 error page lets the user know that the link you typed in isn’t valid. It could be because you typed in the URL wrong or it could be the page wasn’t posted yet or doesn’t exist at all.
Website designers can have some fun with 404 pages. For example, we built a fun and silly 404 error page our client Thriving Mind in South Florida. Check it out at www.thrivingmind.org/oops for a good laugh.
Your 404 error page can be unique and humorous as well.
