phZ Architects in Camillus, New York were kindly referred to us for a website redesign. Their existing website was built with WordPress, which was fantastic since the client was already familiar with operating the admin pages. This project contained a unique feature. We were tasked with separating the residential and commercial projects into two separate websites.
Our Approach
We utilized what are called “sessions.” A session is a variable that is defined and used across multiple pages of the website. Upon entry to www.phzarch.com, visitors are presented with a landing page allowing them to enter either the residential or commercial sites. Whichever site the user decides to choose, that session is defined and will load all the project types unique navigation menus and list of projects. Inside the admin section, the client can easily create pages and projects and assign them to the residential, commercial, or both websites.
If the website visitor decides that they want to switch projects, they can easily do so by clicking the “switch” button in the footer on every page.
